Federico Finishes Fifth

Junior Josh Federico defeated
Coronado's Devon Cruz, 6-2, in the opening round of the final day of the
2010 Colorado State Wrestling Championships and assured himself a medal
and a finish in the top six. Federico lost the next round to Grand
Junction's Dylan Thompson but won the fifth place match, 4-0, over
Pomona's Austin Marvel.

Sean Burroughs have made it to the third day of the 75th Annual CHSAA
State Wrestling Championships and they are one win away from placing in
the top six.

(103), Dan Godin (119), Sean Burroughs (125) and Derek Olson (145)
qualified to compete at the 75th Annual CHSAA State Wrestling
Championships which begin on Thursday, February 18 at 7:15 PM at
the Pepsi Center.

Northglenn High School was host
to twenty eight 5A Junior Varsity teams at the tournament they call 5A
JV State on Friday and Saturday, February 5
and 6 . Grandview finished third.

Wolves Win At Arapahoe

Grandview wrestled
their final Centennial League dual of the season
at Arapahoe High School on Thursday, February 4 and, for the second dual
in a row, the
outcome was decided in the final match of the
evening.
Thornton Invitational
(January 30, 2010)
Varsity wrestlers competed at the Thornton Invitational on Saturday, January 30.
Sean Burroughs (125) and Dan Godin (130) advanced to championship final
match. Burroughs lost a close match to last years 4A 119 pound state
champion from Greeley Wesst, Joseph Martinez, and Godin lost to CT
Robinson from Sand Creek. Josh Federico (103) and Tony Mendieta (112)
finished third and the team ended up in eighth place.
Grandview 37, Eaglecrest 30

Grandview wrestled
their sixth league dual of the season at home
against Eaglecrest and like the duals between
these two teams in 2005-06 and 2006-07, the outcome was decided in the
final match of the evening.
