"Train for the Third Day" than to improve your wrestling
skills by participating in the Freestyle/Greco Roman wrestling season
from March into June.

The Grandview Youth
Wrestling Team finished in second place in the overall
team standing at the Colorado Youth All-State
Tournament. The Wolves were also crowned the 6 & Under
Team Champions and 15 & Under Team Runner Up. The Wolves
finished just 5 point behind Rocky Mountain (150) and 8
points ahead of third place Mountain Range (137) in the
overall team standings.

The Grandview Youth Wrestling team took 35
wrestlers to the Western Suburban League
Championships and came away with 27 place
winners, including 7 Champions.

The Aurora Sentinel's Courtney Oakes
announced
the 2007-08 All-City Wrestling Team on April 17. Grandview has seven
wrestlers selected to the first team. John Godin (103), Eric Wilson (112),
Patrick Brown
(135), Cody McCutcheon (160), Jacob Bomareto (189), Penn Wade (215) and
Cody Gilmore (285).
Bryce Lucherini (152) was named Honorable Mention.

High School Summer Camps
(4/11/2008)
High School wrestlers will be attending summer camps at Western State
in Gunnison from June 13th to the 17th and the University of Nebraska at
Lincoln from June 29th to July 3rd. Coach Maestas needs a deposit
by Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from each wrestler who plans to attend.

2009 Regional Tournament

The
2009 Regional Tournament schedule
has been announced. Grandview has the ninth highest point total with 27
and will wrestle in Region 1 at Grandview High School.

The Denver Post released their
selections for their All-Colorado, All-State and Honorable Mention
wrestlers from the 2007-08 season.

The Rocky Mountain News All-Colorado team, without regard
to year in school or classification, is selected by Rocky
staff, with input from Tim Yount of On The Mat and the state's coaches.

(February 21, 2008)
The 73rd Colorado High School Athletic Association State wrestling
tournament got underway at 7:15 PM on Thursday night, February 21, for
class 5A and Grandview won half of their matches in the opening round.
