Coach Ben Menzor & Coach Marc

2013-14

Coach Ben Menzor has been coaching with the Grandview youth wrestling team the past 6 years.  He has been on the Board of Directors for 5 years and President of the club for the past 2 years.  Since Coach Ben has come to Grandview, the Wolves have finished in the top 5 at the state tournament 5 out of the past 6 years.  The Wolves have two 2nd place state finishes (2007 & 2010).  His goal is to win Colorado State team championship and to have the Grandview Wolves Wrestling Club recognized as one of the top youth programs in the country.

Coach Ben wrestled for Coach Greg Maestas for 2 years at Grandview High School and was student in Grandview High Schools first graduating class.  And, even though he played baseball in college, he has always appreciated the life lesson he learned from the sport of wrestling.  Coach Ben says that if you look close enough in the wrestling room, you might find a picture of a younger, blonder albeit less good looking Coach Ben.  He enjoys coaching kids and really appreciates the lessons wrestling teaches.  Lessons he hopes will help mold children into outstanding students and later on, upstanding adults.

Coach Marc has been coaching with the Grandview Youth Wrestling Team for the last three years.  He and his wife, Liz, have three children.  Gage, Paige and Gavin.  Gage, his oldest son, is a member of the youth team.  Coach Marc grew up in Aurora and attended Overland High School where he was a introduced to the sport of wrestling.  He wrestled for Coach Greg Maestas and immediately fell in love with the sport.  He continued his wrestling career at Western State College where he was a three year varsity wrestler and earned two academic all conference awards.  He truly enjoys the sport and teaching our youth not only the technical aspects of wrestling but also the valuable character traits of discipline, respect and work ethic that are inherent in the sport and an integral part of success in both wrestling and life.
