The Wolves chances for their fourth
consecutive Centennial
League Championship were on the line against Cherry Creek on Thursday, February 2, 2006.
Grandview declared "Black the Den" day and there was a good turnout in
the stands.
This was also "Parents Night" where wrestlers and managers
presented their parents with a rose during the pre-match introduction.
Cherry Creek was winning the dual, 15-12, following the first six
matches. The Wolves won the next five matches, beginning with 135
pounder C.J. Busby's major decision over Creek's Luke Shafer. Addison
MacDonald won by default when Chris Swan was injured in the first period
and could not continue. Jon Brascetta won by tech fall, Curtis McNary
won by fall in the 2nd period and Matt Lucherini won by decision, 8-2,
to win the dual.
